What is my Why?
I went into general surgery because I loved the immediate gratification it offered — helping a patient and offering them a tangible, visible result. Over the last decade, that became more than a skillset; it became a practice rooted in mudita, the joy of witnessing someone else's happiness and success as if it were my own. Every step in surgery is deliberate, working toward an outcome you can see.
Aesthetic medicine has brought that same gratification to me personally — matching who I am on the inside with how I show up on the outside. I want Mitovia to be a safe space that empowers you and restores you. The name is rooted from maternal inheritance, and represents the ethos behind this practice. It guides everything here — excellent outcomes, pursued with clinical precision, delivered with real compassion, and rooted in the joy of seeing you thrive.

Dr. Gurteshwar Rana is a dual board-certified general surgeon and an aesthetic physician, bringing a surgeon’s precision to the art of aesthetic medicine.
She is certified by both the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Surgery, with fellowship training in Bariatrics and Minimally Invasive Surgery. Her aesthetic training was completed through the Canadian Association of Medical Aesthetics (CAMA), where she developed advanced expertise in neuromodulators, dermal fillers, PRP, and regenerative treatments.
Patients benefit from her anatomical understanding of tissue, vasculature, and healing — the surgical foundation behind safer and more precise outcomes. Her practice is rooted in evidence-based care and natural, individualized results.
